Irish-American baritone Liam Shannon is quickly establishing himself as one of the most sought after singers in the New England region. Recent concert and opera engagements include the baritone soloist in the Fauré Requiem with the Bennington County Choral Society, Finzi Requiem da Camera with with the Connecticut Chamber Choir, as well as Albert in Massenet’s Werther with Modern-Vintage Opera, and Ping in Puccini’s Turandot with Opera Vermont and the New England Repertory Orchestra. Other highlights include The Sacristan in Tosca, Minskman in Flight, and The Ferryman in Curlew River. He has participated as a young artist at the Utah Vocal Arts Academy and the Miami Music Festival. As a performing artist, Liam believes in singing a wide variety of repertoire spanning from early music to musical theater, highlighting contemporary works by composers such as Libby Larsen and Tom Cipullo.
Liam received his Masters in Music in Vocal Arts & Opera from the University of Southern California Flora L. Thornton School of Music in the studio of renowned voice teacher, Prof. Lynn Helding. He is also a graduate of Bennington College where he received his Bachelor's Degree in Voice in the studio of Prof. Thomas Bogdan.
